Fueling Productivity in the Power Generation Industry
There is no substitute for solid attention to safety, and the SSMRC believes a safe work site is achieved only by comprehensive training for every millwright on every project. Our members must complete and achieve mastery of the following health and safety training programs:
The power generation industry relies on the work of experienced millwrights who work with precision and productivity, because staying competitive means completing outages on time, building quickly and correctly, and maintaining equipment with pinpoint accuracy.
Southern States Millwrights are power generation industry experts with the experience to solve problems and complete tasks with superior skills.
Southern States Millwrights are in demand for a diversity of power generation industries, including coal, gas, nuclear, and alternative-energy power plants such as wind and solar facilities.
Precision and productivity is the standard work product delivered by Southern States Millwrights every day.
Training includes technical categories such as rigging and signaling, aerial lift, machinery alignment, optical alignment, forklifts, scaffolding, welding, and bolt tensioning. In addition, a full line of safety courses and qualifications are offered to our millwrights every year.
As trends emerge and standards evolve in the North American construction industry, training programs are developed and presented, so that our millwrights meet the challenges encountered on the job site. For instance, when a demand for turbine experts surfaces, we worked with industry leaders Atlantic Plant Maintenance and Siemens to develop gas and steam turbine qualification programs to train our millwrights in the newest power plant technology.
The UBC’s International Training Center in Las Vegas now hosts a turbine training facility with equipment from these partners for hands-on instruction.
Our millwrights and instructors learn from hands-on training with the most advanced equipment and tools available in this industry. As a result, our unmatched training creates professionals who are not only proficient in all material handling skills, but also who understand the importance of health and safety practices.
The SSMRC actively seeks out industry partnerships with the goal of providing to customers exactly what is needed on the job site. These partnerships include Siemens Generation Service, General Electric (APM), Exelon and others, all of which assist in our training efforts by providing equipment, expert consultation, guest instructors, and more.
Partnering with the UBC nets the following assets from our millwrights and contractors:
Starting with pre-project conferences to outline the scope of work, manpower needs and scheduling issues, our contractors keep lines of communication open throughout the life of the project. We also work to complete projects without production missing a beat by adjusting work schedules around peak production hours and scheduling shifts during non-typical work hours.
By using Southern States Millwrights, you are assured quality, productive work, from pre-planning to maintenance. Our promise is simple:
