216 Millwrights Join Dow Chemical for Habitat for Humanity
7/27/2012
Millwrights from local 216 were happy to lend a hand when Dow Chemical sponsored a Habitat for Humanity project in Pope County, AR. The project broke gound in July and Habitat for Humanity hopes to move everyone in sometime in September. This is the first house to be built in Pope County by Habitat for Humanity and is one of the 13 in North America to be sponsored by Dow Chemical this year. Bert Fleck with Dow Chemical, who is the site leader said, "We've been a community member here in Russellville for more than 40 years and we're proud to sponsor this Habitat home for a neighbor". Local 216 members Chris Hall and Dan Sheffield were welcomed by Habitat for Humanity and Dow Chemical not only because of their donation of their time and labor, but the skills they were able to bring to the project. EST, Dennis Donahou, said "I am proud of our members for taking time out to help people in need. UBC members have always been very giving of their time. We take our role as being part of the Pope County community very seriously." Chris and Dan were joined by Dow Chemical employees and family, the IBEW, and other neighbors and family throughout the community.
